We are not a national booking service that sends a stranger to your venue. MusicMasters is a Baltimore County company. Our office sits on Fallsbrook Road in Timonium, our DJs live and work across the metro, and we have been setting up in Baltimore ballrooms, waterfront pavilions, rowhouse-district lofts and county estates for more than fifteen years.

That matters on the day. Your DJ knows that a downtown hotel means a loading dock and a freight elevator shared with the caterer, that a harbor breeze carries sound off a pier, that a historic ballroom may give you one circuit for the whole setup, and that a Fells Point reception has neighbors. They plan for all of it before you ever have to think about it.

Baltimore has hundreds of places to get married, from the George Peabody Library and Chase Court in Mount Vernon to the Accelerator Space in Hampden, the Baltimore Marriott Waterfront in Harbor East, and backyards in Roland Park and Towson. The whole day

What your Baltimore wedding DJ actually does

Ceremony. A second sound system at the ceremony site, whether that is a pier, a garden or the same ballroom flipped after cocktails. Prelude music as guests are seated, your processional and recessional, and a mic on the officiant and readers so the back row hears the vows.

Cocktail hour. Background music at the right level for conversation while the room is reset, plus announcements when it is time to move.

Reception. The grand entrance, first dance, father-daughter and mother-son dances, toasts, cake cutting, bouquet and garter, and then open dancing built from your requests and our Top 200. Baltimore crowds have their own traditions, and we know them. If your family does the apron dance, we have the music and the mic ready.

Lighting and photo booth. Uplighting that turns a plain hotel ballroom into your colors, a monogram GOBO on the wall or dance floor, and an open-air photo booth that keeps the non-dancers busy.

Baltimore wedding DJ FAQ

Do you DJ weddings in Baltimore City?

Yes. Our office is in Timonium, a short drive up I-83 from downtown, so a Baltimore wedding is home turf. We DJ weddings across Baltimore City and Baltimore County, from the harbor to Hunt Valley.

Can the same DJ handle our ceremony?

Yes. Our Most Popular package includes the ceremony. We bring a second sound system for the ceremony site, play prelude music as guests arrive, cover the processional and recessional, and mic the officiant and readers so every word carries, indoors or on the waterfront.

Our venue needs a certificate of insurance. Can you provide one?

Yes. MusicMasters carries a $2,000,000 liability policy, and we send a certificate of insurance to any Baltimore venue that asks for one.

What does the venue need to provide for the DJ?

One six or eight foot banquet table with linens, and one dedicated 15 to 20 amp circuit. Larger setups or lighting may need more circuits. Outdoor spaces need shelter for the DJ area no matter the forecast, and we can rent a canopy if the venue has none.

What time will the DJ arrive?

About an hour before the start time for a basic setup, and earlier when we are also running ceremony sound or lighting. City hotels and historic venues sometimes have loading docks, elevators, or load-in windows, and we plan the arrival around them.

What if our DJ gets sick?

Every system has backups on site, and we have backup DJs on call across the Baltimore area. If your DJ ever cannot make it, a prepared MusicMasters DJ steps in with all of your planning details.

How much does a Baltimore wedding DJ cost?

Our Essential Package is $1000 for four hours of DJ and sound. Our Most Popular package is $1400 for five hours and includes the ceremony. Uplighting, dance floor lighting, extra speakers, mics and photo booths are available as add-ons, and we offer interest-free installment plans.
